  • We have an exciting few months of attending WordCamps in the UK and Europe ahead of us, starting with WordCamp London on the weekend of 18-19 March 2017.

WordCamps are weekend events where WordPress developers, designers, bloggers, technical specialists and general users can come together to listen to insight and experience from WordPress Gurus.

During the weekend, visitors can attend talks about their specific area of expertise, or learn something totally new from fellow WordPressers.

The best part about a WordCamp is the opportunity to meet a bunch of new and interesting people. It’s no surprise that the WordPress community is welcoming, and WordCamp events offer a supportive and enjoyable environment for WordPress beginners and experts alike.

Kicking things off with WordCamp London

We’re fast approaching WordCamp London, one of the biggest WordCamp events in the UK, running for the fourth year since 2013. This year’s event takes place during 18-19 March 2017 at London Metropolitan University.

WordCamp London consistently offers an elegant and insightful weekend for WordPress enthusiasts. The team behind the event puts incredible effort into WordCamp London and it definitely pays off.

This is an exciting year for us at FlexiDB. We’re approaching our Beta testing phase for our new product, Mind Doodle, a collaborative online mind mapping software developed using FlexiDB. To celebrate, we’ve decided to make Mind Doodle a Balcony Sponsor at WordCamp London, so look out for the Mind Doodle logo on the sponsors page!

Will you be attending? Contact Tess to arrange to meet up (and grab a Mind Doodle sticker!).

Introducing the first ever WordCamp Bristol

An event that is close to our hearts, the inaugural WordCamp Bristol is located just a stone’s throw away from FlexiDB’s HQ. It takes place at the Watershed on Bristol Harbourside during 13-14 May 2017.

We were so pleased that WordCamp Bristol was getting set up that we couldn’t resist lending a helping hand. Tess Coughlan-Allen has been volunteering her time helping WordCamp Bristol develop a social media presence, and we’ve offered addition support and advice from Daniel Reading, as well as FlexiDB’s CEO Richard Hill.

On top of this, we are proud Admiral Sponsors of the event. We’ll be exhibiting, so feel free to visit our stand for a demonstration of FlexiDB, our database framework for WordPress. We’ll be giving away some free goodies and swag, as well as showcasing our brand new product, Mind Doodle, built with FlexiDB’s database backend. Visit our stand to find out more!

There are plenty of ways to get involved with WordCamp Bristol, from attending or volunteering, showcasing your brand through range of sponsorship opportunities, or applying to present a talk. Speaker applications close on 14th April 2017 – apply here.

Finishing Spring with WordCamp Europe in Paris

We always have an amazing time at WordCamp Europe, and the event has gone from strength to strength over the last few years.

This year, WordCamp Europe aims to accommodate an epic 3000 people, making it the biggest WordCamp to date. We can’t wait for this year’s event, which will be hosted in Paris, France during 15-17 June 2017.

Bringing together bright minds from all over the world in a friendly and supportive event, WordCamp Europe has an atmosphere of togetherness and collaboration. It’s a great way to meet people from every part of the WordPress community, from all over the world. Last year, attendees came from 67 countries, with 14% travelling from continents outside of Europe.

Follow FlexiDB and Mind Doodle on Twitter, we’ll be using the hashtags #WCLDN, #WCBRS & #WCEU at each of the WordCamps.
